Hey guys and girls. I'd like to give you a valuable nugget of information that can send your 1StepSystem business (or any business) through the roof.

What I'm about divulge I've known and understood for a little while, but it was strongly reinforced this afternoon while I was watching "The Gods Must Be Crazy."

This is the movie, for those that don't know, where a pilot drops an empty coke bottle from his plane over the Kalahari desert. The native bushmen find it and at first are awestruck and curious. They find that it is a perfect tool for many of their needs and are happy to have it.

Soon, everyone "needs" it (as in I must have this because I want it, not because I need it). The tribe got along fine without for as long as the Kalahari bushmen have been around. Now it becomes a problem and people fight over it, hurt each other with it, and always want to use it for one thing or another.

At this point, the narrator says something to the effect of 'the people went from sharing it to owning it.'

Now let's get back to marketing and the 1StepSystem. Answer this, which attracts better, or which of these statements are you more attracted to....

This is great. It's mine and you can't have it unless you pay for it or give me something for it

OR

This is great. I'll share it with you so you can enjoy and benefit from it too.

Now I know it's pretty obvious that the second one is far more attractive, but let's look a little deeper.

The first statement gives rise to a SELLING situation. I have something that you want, but you have to pay me for it. In order for us both to profit, I have to convince you that my asking price is worth the product I offer. So if you disagree, then I have to try new tactics to persuade you to buy my product. I need to do some arm twisting. I want you to have because then I profit. You want it, but don't want to pay for it.

I don't want to do that and most people don't want to either.

The second statement gives rise to a SERVING situation. It's simple. I have something that can benefit you and I'll freely give it to you so you can use it too. If I do that, don't you think the person I give to is going to come back for more?

Absolutely.
